We would like to share with you our enthusiasm about the Second International Conference on Comparative Survey Methods 3MC 2016 taking place in Chicago, Monday, July 25 – Friday, July 29, 2016.
The first 3MC conference was held in Berlin, Germany in 2008 and was the first international conference to focus explicitly on survey methodology for comparative research. That conference brought together over 400 researchers working on a wide range of topics related to cross-national and cross-cultural survey methods, including research on study and instrument design, data collection, quality assurance, data analysis, dissemination, and archiving. It was attended by researchers and practitioners from around the globe, representing business, industry, public services such as health and education, academic researchers and public policy makers. The conference focused in particular on methods, tools, strategies and protocols that help maximize comparability across countries, languages and cultures.
The resulting monograph, “Survey Methods in Multinational, Multiregional, and Multicultural Contexts” received the 2013 AAPOR book award (Harkness et. al., 2010) – “recognizing influential books that have stimulated theoretical and scientific research in public opinion; and/or influenced our understanding or application of survey research methodology”.
With these conferences and monographs, we seek to draw attention to important changes in the comparative methodology landscape, to identify new methodological research and to help point the way forward in areas where research needs identified in literature have still not been adequately addressed. We invite you to join us in Chicago and to use this opportunity to showcase your research, products and services through our many conference-related sponsorship opportunities. The conference and monographs would not be possible without funding from sponsors.
Conference attendees will benefit directly by being able to personally connect with many researchers from around the world participating in the conference. However you decide to participate, your contribution assures the success of the conference. Please take a few minutes to look through the list of the sponsoring opportunities we offer. The list includes familiar “sponsoring” items which have proved to be a popular means of making one’s presence and contribution visible as well as other options specific to the 3MC venue.
